  • Number: 74 standard; 42 standard electric and water
  • Facilities: Flush toilets, showers, fire rings, box grills, camp store, laundry facilities, bath house, swimming pool.
  • Campsite fees per night:
    • Virginia resident: Standard – $20/night; electric & water – $30/night
    • Non-resident: Standard – $24/night; electric & water – $35/night
    • Overnight transaction fee: $5.00.
    • Parking fee: $9.00. Not applicable when camping overnight.
  • Campsite reservations: LFCR (John Mason) will reserve Site B40 for Lord Fairfax, Lady Cecil, Vic Emery and Nicolai Kolesnikov, designed for a group of four (4).
    • Non-electric. Water faucet and showers a short walking distance.

Cabins:

  • Types: One-room Log Efficiency (3); One-bedroom Log (4); Two-bedroom Log (4); Two-bedroom cinderblock (13). Complete with furnishings.
  • Reservations: Cabins are popular in September. Reservations should be made early via 1.800.933.PARK. See website for cancellation policy.

Potomac River Retreat:

Similar to a timeshare or resort. Limited to 16 people. Five bedrooms: Master Bedroom sleeps 2; Bedroom 2 sleeps; Bedroom 3 sleeps 2 (twin beds). Bedroom 4 sleeps 4: Bedroom 5 has one queen bed. All bedrooms have closet, chest, dressers, and night stands. Multiple bathrooms. Two (2) kitchens, two (2) living rooms. Linen and kitchen utensils provided. Notes:

  • Arrival: There is a guard shack at entrance. No fee required for persons with reservations for overnight. You will be directed to Visitors Center for check-in.
  • Check-in time: Normal check-in time is 4pm. LFCR participants/friends may arrive and check in as early as 2pm.
  • Social coordination: Campsites, cabins and Potomac River Retreat are at considerable distance from each other. Suggest planning ahead (perhaps a check-in time)

  • George Washington Birthplace National Monument. Located off State Route 3 at 1732 Popes Creek Road, Colonial Beach, VA 22443, a few miles to the west of Westmoreland State Park. Visit www.nps.gov/gewa.
