  • Number:168 standard sites (each site provides for 6 tents)
  • Facilities: Flush toilets, coin showers, fire pits, picnic tables, dump stations. Quarters required for shower and laundry machines. Change machine available.
  • Regulations:
    • Erect only on pads when provided.  No trenching of tents.
    • Food storage. Bear country. Secure food.
    • May purchase firewood at park and/or use dead wood.
    • Wash dishes at campsite; not in restrooms, drinking fountains or water spigots. Strain dishwater to remove food particles and dispose of strained water only in restroom facility sinks. Dispose of food particles in trash bins, not in sink drains.
    • Limited to six (6) people per site.
    • Quiet hours. Campsite signage lists quiet hours.
    • 10 mph speed limit in campgrounds area.
    • Park vehicles only on paved/gravel areas provided for camp site.
    • Clip camping pass to site post to show occupancy.

Campsite reservations:

  • Lord Fairfax Charity Ride (John Mason) will reserve campsites A67 and A69 (total of 12 tent sites) for off-shore participants.
  • All other participants must make their own reservations at www.recreation.gov. Sites E187 and E185 are recommended.
  • Campground registration building is generally staffed from 8am – 4pm (1.540.999.3500 x3231). If arriving after hours there will be instructions provided for check in, and campground host is on site 24/7.

Big Meadows Lodge:

Lodge has 72 rooms in rustic cabins and traditional buildings, some with suite rooms and/or TV. Participants must make their own reservations at 1.877.847.1818. See also https://www.goshenandoah.com/lodging/big-meadows-lodge.

Management:

National Park Service, with Big Meadows Lodge operated by a concessionaire.
