Lord Fairfax of Cameron

Nicholas Fairfax is the 14th Baron of Cameron. Educated at Eaton College and Cambridge University, qualifying as a barrister in 1977. Lord Fairfax served an internship with Washington firm of Covington & Burling in 1978.

Currently, Lord Fairfax serves as a:

  • Senior Executive with the Russian ship owning company SCF Group
  • Director the North of England Marine Insurance Company
  • Consultant to Burford Capital, the world leading litigation funding and corporate intelligence firm
  • Co-founder of the Hawki Worldwide Ltd., a private security firm.

As a member of the House of Lords, his interests include the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, maritime affairs and social and economic effects of artificial intelligence. Lord Fairfax speaks several languages, to include, French, German, Italian and Russian to varying degrees.

Lord Fairfax is an avid motorcyclist and has previously been team leader of a 7,500 mile motor bike charity fundraiser in Russia, garnering approximately $1,000,000.  He will provide leadership and engagement on a similar venture to raise funds for Fairfax County/City charities. He has agreed to serve as Patron and suggested a ride that would generally follow the boundary of the original Northern Neck Proprietary, also referred to as the Lord Fairfax Land Grant (approximately 5,280,000 acres encompassing all the land between the Potomac and Rappahannock rivers from the Chesapeake Bay to the Fairfax Stone in West Virginia).

Lord Fairfax is married to his wife Annabel (for over 30 years). Annabel is a professional artist and they have three adult sons.
